I've not yet tried it, I might just have to make the effort to get there one day soon Wink

looks like we'll need it after being turned away from Sedgebrook today - i hope they burn down or go bankrupt! must be the credit crisis hitting the butter prices and they cant afford to put as much on our toast as they seemed to think we all wanted.

Someone had a go a couple of months ago. Talk to the right people in Grantham and it could happen Wink At least they would finally do Alan's burnt toast right.

Sedgebrook has gone downhill since it changed hands.
Only brightspot (sort of) is the emo chick with the very tacky tat on her, err chest (not that I studied it much mind Embarassed )
I have tried the cafe at the fishing lakes, nice and new and clean, no hot food after 12, but very reasonable.

Looks like it might have to be either one of the fishing lakes - might be an idea if someone checked with them first though .

Been to Kingfisher at Portland Fishing Lakes several times. See original post in July:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There is a new cafe near Sibthorpe at the Portland Fishing Lakes roughly half way between Hawksworth and Shelton.

Plenty of room and good value. I had B-o-T (with 5 slices of toast ) and tea for £2.60

..........................................................

May be a replacement for Sedgebrook where there is a limit of 10 cyclists at a time from new owners Question

Is that the one at the Deli? if it is I've been there not really cyclist friendly food and they don't seem to like children either. There used to be a sign outside about cyclists and muddy shoes!

Thats the one, dont think he wants us lowering the tone.Dont know what they are like for large groups but I have always been impressed by the cafe at Wymondham mill, could be a suitable alternative to Sedgebrook.

After nearly 20 years of going to 2 alternate cafes' I think it's about time for a change of routes and destinations.

Wymondham can only cope with around 20 people, nice as it is.

It is more or less agreed that the Saturday Parrot run will be going to Holwell Fishing Lakes on alternate Saturdays, instead of Sedgebrook. They'll continue with the Limes on the other Saturday, although they get a bit uppity if you turn up after 12.00.

Let the magical mystery tours commence, or should I say continue Rolling Eyes

I can't, actually yes I can, believe the number of times I hear riders claiming not to know where they are, when even I know that we have done the same route a good few times in the last 6 months.

I know what you mean. Pete Fostun is always saying to me that they never made it to the cafe, got dropped off the front group and got lost.

I'm sure people just look at the wheel in front and don't notice where they are.
