If a parent is out of practice at bike riding and doesn't have their own but has kids that enjoy riding their bikes regularly - is hiring bikes a good idea? |

Depends how far the kids are riding.
An old chap in the village here reconditions bikes and sells them on for £20-30 a go. No good for long rides but OK for knocking round short distances, so cheaper than hiring
One or two shops may still offer a rent before you buy deal, where you rent a bike for a day, if you like it the cost of renting is knocked off the purchase price |
