The Ashfield Road Club are pleased to announce that 8 times Tour de France stage winner Barry Hoban will present “An Evening with Barry Hoban” at the Underwood Miners Welfare* on Friday 2nd October 2009. Barry held the British record for TdF stage wins for 34 years until the remarkable Mark Cavendish finally took the record this year. Barry was the first to congratulate him. This promises to be an entertaining and memorable evening describing continental racing in an era spanning Anquetil, Merkx and Hinault. *Underwood Miners Welfare is less than 2 miles South West of junction 27 of the M1 along the A608. |
