Yeah, but if I was a keen time triallist I'd kill myself, so what does that prove?

That you're not qualified to talk about something you know nothing about, and you have no respect for those that enjoy their particular branch of the sport.

How do you become qualified to talk about time trialling?

The thread topic is "Vote to get the North Mid events back on the A1". It seems that a bunch of cyclists, most of whom have done more than a few TTs in their time, would vote against. Don't cry just because you lost.

What are you talking about?

My comment was in respect of all the nonsense on this thread rather than a constructive response.

As it happens, my fastest ever 10 and 25 times were done on those courses in 2006, but I don't mind if they are lost as other courses come on stream on a regular basis.

I know nothing much about mountain biking, BMX or even track racing come to think of it, so do not feel qualified to comment. I do ride a fair few time trials and have organized more than a few, so would like to think I know a bit about them, and also what a competitive but also friendly branch of the sport it is.

It does seem as though the silly throwawy comments on here come from people who really don't know much about Time Trialling. Perhaps some of you should give it a go?

I shouldn't think there are more than a handfull of posters on this thread who haven't done a few, or "given it a go". Most of them have moved on.

If I wanted to spend some time with grumpy old men in clothes that are too tight for them it's easier to just turn on 'Top Gear' than go down to a dual carraigway at 4am on a Sunday morning.

Ok, I'll spell it out - pretty much everyone on here has lost count of the number of time trials they've done. Also, everyone on here has done tens of thousands of miles on the road. What further qualifications would you desire before someone can offer an opinion on an internet mongboard?
