That's the total prize list. Rolling Eyes

I don't ride for the prize money, I ride a decent climb instead.

Possibly the gheyest riposte to having douched a HC and getting some serious return on your training.

Rolling Eyes

No, I'm doing Holme Moss and Tinker's Monument, two real climbs.

What's a few hundred quid? I've not even done that much training!

If I wanted the money I'd not be cycling.

Gotta admit - Holme Moss is a boostard - ridden it a few times now - and walked up the adjacent Black Hill enough times.

Seems you have done a bit of training - I mean - I've dropped you going into Norton Lindsay once..... Wink

True - but you know it helps. IIRC there is a 1k bonus for anyone who can beat the current record up the Rake - Jeff Somebody holds the record I think- didn't he get a Rolex watch for doing it?

Jeff Wright Mr Hill. Quality rider from up north. KOM in the RAS etc etc. Won national hill climb in '94. His record in the rake has stood up well. If Matt beats it on Sunday he'll have earned it! I on the other hand will be at least 30 seconds off the record on Sunday!

Certainly is Very Happy Very Happy I didn't watch that year as it was before I knew about the wonderful world of hill climbing. First year I remember watching was when Chris Boardman won it which was 95 or 96.

Incidentally the winner gets a huge trophy which is far better than cash IMO.

You going to buff the trophy before it's presented to the winner? You're a good chap. Wink

Ivan - I agree. I won one earlier this season (actually a dead heat for first) and we got a trophy to keep plus a big one which is engraved. Much better than a cash prize.
