Can anyone advise me as to why this site caters for the BC region,as, with the exception of the general discussion section(not really BC anyway),its very rarely used by the region,to the extent that it probably should be.

I think it's provided as a resource for clubs in the East midlands to use to distribute information and discuss local issues. It's rare that the region actually needs to communicate much information to its EM members, but the sticky posts about the county club forums is one example of why it's needed.

Sorry Martin I find that offensive, you said you were asking for advice. I said "Ask Admin" as they would obviously be the decision makers in this instance and be able to answer you without having to guess. If you had said for instance, 'looking for a discussion' I wouldn't have bothered replying as it does not concern me personally.

Originally the regional board had its own website which was not very successful; usual thing - hardly ever updated and as a result hardly ever visited. After some discussion at a regional meeting, it was agreed that VR should host the EM; the idea being to tag onto the success of VR. And so it has continued with only the general discussion part being active and the regional bit being hardly ever updated.

The general discussion part could equally well take place on the main VR sections. So Martin is right, it is a waste of time and money. Most of the sections have most recent updates of several years ago. For example, if you look at the clubs section is is very different to the clubs section of the BC site for EM because no one ever bothers to keep it up to date. Same with the Mallory League - results never updated.

Will Scarlet, who is an EM board member, states that "It's rare that the region actually needs to communicate much information to its EM members"! BC and its constituent boards are no longer member's organisations. The East Mids region is still as fragmented as ever with Lincs still acting as a seperate region with rules of its own and the board only representing track riders which is odd as BC has consistently failed to deliver on promised new tracks in EM.

Without the financial contribution from BC EM, there might not be a Veloriders.

BC EM board only represents track riders? ....hmm.

I was not aware that it was one of the duties of BC East Midlands to fund Veloriders.
