Nigel Measom is down as National B in the handbook. I thought regional A was 2/3/4? |

No need to drum up support for riders to race in the East Midlands, there is no shortage of participants.
It's Race Organisers, backing Clubs and support you need to be working on.
Hats off to Zenith for running their excellent 2-day year after year. _________________ Hoping the race organiser will give me a postcode to find the headquarters hidden in the wilderness.

On the BC site it says that the Nigel Measom is a Nat B race open to 1st, 2nd,3rd, Elite riders; but on here it says "No Elites". What is going on? |

National B's are open to Elites and so that is how it has been put on the website, however the organiser has decided not to accept entries from Elites. |

What do you mean by "the organiser has decided not to accept entries from Elites." ? Surely the BC race category rules apply and individual organisers cannot change them. |

Organisers can do what they want, in terms of selection, I thought. |

So, what is the point of the BC event categories? |

That's obviously how they would prefer it was done. |

DH wrote "That's obviously how they would prefer it was done." Who would prefer it was done that way, BC or the organisers?
So, riders in one event have to ride against Elites to get points and in another they don't ; to get the same points. Ridi - culous!
Ridiculous.

There's clearly something wrong if the organiser isn't accepting elites but it says on the BC site that the race is open to elites.
I'd like to think it's just a communication mix up rather than a stand off between BC and the organiser. Fwiw as far as I'm concerned as the rules stand the organiser is within his rights to turn away who he likes - in which case BC shouldn't be advertising it as open to Elites on their website.
If they are trying to make the point that a Nat B has to accept elites then they need to change or at least clarify their rules. |

BC. The orgainiser can only pick the categories given to them & there isn't one for 1,2,3. Loophole is that they can apply their own selection criteria. |

It was BC HQ who did away with National C, forcing organisers to choose between Regional A (2/3/4) and National B (E/1/2/3). This is part of the reason why there's not much racing for 1st cats, as most chose Regional A.
There's no difference between Elites and 1sts anyway, in practice, so why have both categories? There are no races open to just Elites.
If you ride for a team and are employed on team duties most of the time, you aren't going to accumulate the 300 points required to retain your Elite status anyway. |
