I have a Colnago Dream with the carbon B'stays. When the chain comes off the chainrings it tends to chew up the carbon at the end of the carbon stays. I've noticed that on some quality carbon frames there is a metal protector over this section. The Orbea Orca even has a Ti one. Anyone have a tip or advice on how to protect this part of the frame. Thanks.

Helicopter tape and properly set up gears.

Or two or three band clamps/jubilee clips for that heath robinson look.

They are in theory the perfect solution, except that most carbon frames nowadays have oversized and/or non-circular seat tubes at the requisite point, so you can't get a dog fang on. Hence the reason that Pinarello and Orbea etc have started putting metal plates in the area prone to damage.
