Hi,

I've looked on the BC website and the CTT wesbite and they have different dates for the nationals.

I thought that they are usually in September?
Can anybody tell me what date they are, where and what I have to do to qualify?
I'm racing over in France with a mix of UCI races and elite nationals. So dont get much chance to ride TT's apart from stage races.

Thanks

Says 5 September

http://new.britishcycling.org.uk/road/article/roadst_Road-Major-Events-Calendar
Also says 5 September...

So where is the different date?

To enter then download the entry form from the CTT website:
http://www.rttc.org.uk/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=V1ilAktax5U%3d&tabid=172&mid=653
And send it off to the organiser with your fee. Simplez! Wink

BC/UCI regs apply. All in the BC book. Fixed not allowed. See the thread about 1080, all based on last year's event in bucks.

Where exactly is this race taking place?

Are the roads closed?

Are you allowed a support car?

How is seeding done if I race UCI races and not "10m, 25m, 50m"?

Does anyone know if the course is technical and/or hilly?

Thanks,

Tomas

You want this page for the rules:
http://www.ctt.org.uk/Competition/BTTC/Conditions/tabid/403/Default.aspx

It's down in the Golden Grove area of Carmarthenshire, rolling rural roads, but not particularly hilly or technical. Roads won't be closed, this is the UK Mad Dunno about seeding - do you think you should be in the top 10 that go at the end? - if so speak to Gerry Oram and find out, if not wgaf about seeding?

Cool, seems reasonable enough. And it does clash with the Tour of Britain. Amazing!

Is it recognized by the UCI; give points?

The result of senior, U-23, women, junior is reported to UCI.
If you need to check anything (all UCI regs about machines apply) the site from last year's race, North Bucks RC, still has all the detail, and quite likely has been copied over.
Incidentally, there is no ToB clash, the ToB starts the following weekend.
GBR riders only, so if your UCI code says anything other than GBR, it's not open, as it's a British Championship.

Actually Doc, it is open as a race, but the Championship (& medals, etc.) can only be won by a rider with GBR on the licence (or if a non licence holder, a British citizen). Remember Wouter Sybrandy (Ned) rode 2 years ago to finish 2nd overall, and last year for (I think) 6th. There were also at least 2 non GB nationals in the womens race (one Irish, the other Finnish - although she has lived here for 40 years!).

Yes I understand it's a national championship. And you need "GBR" prefixed to your D.O.B on your UCI license. Hence why I considered entering it and not some other country.

In reference to the TOB clash, it was a remark, not a question. It clashed in 2008 putting several top riders out of the event.

Thanks for the info.

Good. Removes the possibility of timewasters complaining that they got beat afterwards.

but opens up the possibility of Sky losing because of a puncture and looking silly. Still its the same for everyone which is the important point.

Quite correct Paul, corrected I am, only GBR riders can be awarded places in the championship.
