I've just read on another forum that Karl Austin of the Congleton CC was killed last night whilst taking part in a 10ml TT on the A50 Derby course. It seems he was hit from behind by an HGV as he joined the A50 at the Etwall interchange.

I'd never met Karl but had seen him at many events over the years and always looked out for his name in the results.

RIP Karl and condolensces to his family and friends.

Only just been talking to Geoff Bowler about this very sad news. Geoff was visibly shaken up by this tragedy, the second death on this course.

Remember him using his big fixed gear many times on the Cheshire TT courses. Too many people are being lost for no good reason, not that there is ever a good reason...... Sad
