The hill climb season is nearly here so can I just tell you about the Rake Hill Climb on Sunday the 16th of October in Ramsbottom, Lancashire. This is a hill climb like no other: it starts in the very centre of the town and is 970 yards long. The road is completely closed and very well marshalled, mainly to hold the crowd back. Every rider will get a prize, and the main prize is usually a bike. There are prizes for juniors, juveniles, ladies, vets team, and even tandems. The Mayor of Ramsbottom comes along to present the prizes, and there is an excellent PA with the organizer Peter Graham doing the commentary. The headquarters are in a pub that does great bacon butties throughout the event and lunches afterwards. Next year the National Hill Climb will be on this course so come and have a good weekend out and try the course for next year.

the Met Police TSG were riding today

when your minute man catches you, I thought it rather unsporting trying to switch him in to the wall/ crowd, the only thing missing was a baton and some CS spray

well done to the blocked rider who still won on the day and somehow managed to keep smiling despite the antics
