I like him. Everything is soooo wrong, I love the outside the box thinking, the gear, the saddle, the homemade disk, the racing in legwarmers all year round. But it works for him so can't knock him!! _________________

His bike doesn't meet UCI regs (saddle too far forward) otherwise he'd have gone... |

Bloody Hell! Presumably the wheels are 650s? The saddle looks like it's only half bolted on or summat.
Bizarre. Still, as Lee says, don't knock it if it works. _________________ "For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong." H. L. Mencken

The wheels are 700c, and it only works in very limited circumstances, but that is enough to win the BBAR. _________________ John McClelland's victory in the motor paced event with Derek Marloe on the derny was a thing of beauty (Oldmanof) |

700s! What gears, dare I ask, is he pushing then? _________________ "For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong." H. L. Mencken

All that effort to be aerodynamic and he only put four pins in his number so its flapping in the wind, his priorities are obviously wrong!!!! |

I'm sure I have read of research in the laboratory that shows that about 60rpm is in fact the most mechanically efficient (in the body, not in the bike) method of putting power down.
With the exception of Armstrong and a couple of others, you will see professionals using very low cadence when climbing mountains.
Perhaps he is right. _________________ "For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong." H. L. Mencken

Lots of things are interesting, doesn't mean they aren't pointless though. _________________ "Well done, you are 100% absolutely without a shadow of a doubt spot-bollock-on correct." - Tucker
