I'm sure I have read of research in the laboratory that shows that about 60rpm is in fact the most mechanically efficient (in the body, not in the bike) method of putting power down. |
Most studies are done at low wattages though. Nik's written some stuff about why he does it on the timetriallingforum, can't find link at the moment I'm afraid. |

Another link in that chain wouldn't go amiss methinks. _________________ I was being chased by a police dog last week, and made the mistake of trying to escape through a little tunnel, over a see-saw and through a hoop of fire. It finally caught me as I was weaving in and out of some sticks. |
