Isn't it supposed to be the simplest rough measure of fitness? The lower the rate, the fitter you are?
Reason: I took mine yesterday afternoon (always lowest in the afternoon for some reason) at between 40 and 44, lowest ever. But I'm still giving it my bag of spanners impression _________________ "For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong." H. L. Mencken

Its a guide, but its hardly definitive. RHR depends on about a million things, of which your fitness is but one.
Pablo Lastras's RHR is about that (remembering a very old Procycling article). Fiver says he'd beat you in a 25. |

Another fiver says you can't find a cyclist who wouldn't... _________________ "For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong." H. L. Mencken
