Swindon’s GWR Cycling Team Makes Signing From Spurs!

With the 2009 season only just coming to a close, the GWR Cycling Team plans for 2010 are already well advanced, and the team are delighted to have signed up Diamond Sports Massage Therapy as one of the key partners for next season. Diamond Sports Massage Therapy has an impressive network of clients, based in and around Swindon and some farther afield, including private clients, sports clubs, and a history of working with football clubs including Swindon Town, Portsmouth FC and Tottenham Hotspur.

With the squad expanding for next year and with a much more extensive programme of races across the country and Europe planned, the introduction of sports massage *CENSORED* Darren Beers, proprietor of Diamond Sports Massage Therapy will be a welcome boost to the team with his support both during training and competition.

Established in 2001, Diamond Sports Massage Therapy has many years' experience in the sports massage profession. Prior to opening his own business, Darren has been providing sports massage to local teams since 1987. The business now has two Swindon clinics, in Blunsdon and Churchward.

Darren commented “We are delighted to support GWR during 2010. The values and aims of the team align closely with my own experience and the ethos of Diamond Sports Massage. During my work with British Cycling I supported the Under-23 team, treating a very young Mark Cavendish! We aim to develop local young riders through the GWR team and I’m proud to be part of that”

In addition, Darren will be the race Directeur Sportif for the GWR Team at many of the key events across the country and Europe. He will be in the team car to provide focus for the 2010 squad of Under 23 riders and with his in depth knowledge of racing, will be a valuable asset to the team – as well as providing hands-on massage of course!

“Having been focused for the past few years on premiership football it is great to be back in cycling and I’m looking forward to the season.” Darren’s business partner Stuart Still continues to work with Tottenham Hotspur first team.

The team is currently finalising plans for next years rider line up and sponsors, and there is still an opportunity for a partner to provide a team vehicle for the teams use in 2010.
