|
|
I took a hard blow to the knee in a cyclocross crash on Sunday. The abrashions are healing but the knee is still very swollen and stiff. I just tried ten minutes on the turbo and the outer top part of my calf started to swell up in an alarming way. Apart from the usual RICE technique, has anyone got any other advice? |

DON'T.
Wait for it to calm down. Make sure you can walk, do knee-bends, all that stuff that you could do before. Then try the bike. _________________ "For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong." H. L. Mencken

Thank you for the helpful advice. I'll try not to crash but I'm afraid I'm hooked on cross.
Hans, in my experience medical professionals are a last resort for advice on riding again after injury. They invariably say something like: "don't ride your bike again for months", which is clearly the wrong answer. |

Oh, OK. In that case a swollen top part of your calf is probably Deep Vein Thrombosis. Hope this helps _________________ World Masters Drive HillClimb For Taureans Category C Champion 2013.
