Royston Gardero doesn't race much these days

Get a track bike. B group at Welwyn is easy peasy; even Legro can manage it with half a lung, and only one working leg! No poxy hills either

Mental.
I read that Flecha hit almost 69 mph on a descent the other day as well. Presumably this can only be achieved by turning a massive gear at about 120 rpm even on a fairly steep descent?

No, the technique used involves detaching your brain at the top of the climb. The rest takes care of itself.
