RTTC or BCF?
Perhaps BCF had finished their TTT by then? _________________ John McClelland's victory in the motor paced event with Derek Marloe on the derny was a thing of beauty (Oldmanof) |

I believe the last BCF TTT was 1994.
Is there still no online BC championship archive? _________________ ... |

1. North Wirral Velo-Kodak (Pete Longbottom, Paul Jennings, Simon Lillistone, Matt Illingworth) 1 32 52
2. Delta RT (Matt Postle, Glenn Holmes, Rod Ellingworth, Darren Knight) 1 35 46
3. Optimum Performance RT (Paul Curran, Rob Harris, Wayne Randle, Mark Lovalt) 1 37 13
9. Team Welwyn (S. Layfield, R. Jefferies, J. McClelland, P. Shuttleworth) 1 43 03

Yer, sounds familiar, we lost Layfield around half distance and I suffered in the last 20km or so. Rob and Paul had good rides though. _________________ John McClelland's victory in the motor paced event with Derek Marloe on the derny was a thing of beauty (Oldmanof) |

That was a fun couple of hours if I remember!
Can't honestly remember if Leo rode but I think I have the comic with the report in somewhere so will look it out...... _________________ You never lose class, only form. |

I know I drove the following car for the Leo (my team) one year up at Bury St Edmunds so that must have been 1996. Eddie Adkins punctured but we changed his wheel reasonably swiftly. _________________ Rich |

1994 perhaps. I remembver Alan Rochford being "over the moon" as his Leo "B" team beat Leo "A" _________________ John McClelland's victory in the motor paced event with Derek Marloe on the derny was a thing of beauty (Oldmanof) |

I was in the Leo from 94 to 96 so one of those!
I can't remember much about it. Hmm, I do recall borrowing George Shakespeare's CB kit and on returning it interrupting his son Steve with Georgina Pechard. That would definitely have been 94. _________________ Rich |

I saw Steve out on his bike on Sunday. I didn't 'interrupt' anything though

Reason I asked just found some old results sheets.
In 1996 I did the BUSA 4 up ttt which was on Sun 17th March on BS/21
We did a 1.4.44 which I thought was good as we really only rode with 3 men as one rider had a bad day and there was a nagging cross wind!
We got the BUSA gold with that putting Cambridge into second (on their turf) with 1.8.05 ie we took 3.20 out the ra ra ra's That team was good - as it had one M Hutchinson and R English T Hornbuckle D Shrimpton
It was also an open event Leo A did a 1 .3.48 ie we got within a minute of them - team was Dighton,Pyne,Taylor,Stapleton (ie strong!)
Breckland A were second with a 1.7.06
Just wondering that year if we had a full four how we would have gone in the nationals
Welwyn were third in that 96 4 up ttt with 1.10.50 (Layfield,Saysell,Warren, Shuttleworth)

I recall Foucault mumbling after a BCF TTT Championship that if half the field were shot on sight, there would only be 50% left, and therefore much easier to beat... pretty smart analysis from a non-cyclist! _________________ "A couple of years ago I gave up drinking, smoking, and class As... it was the worst twenty minutes of my life!"
