We have a new move in the pantomime ping-pong the UCI has made of simply stamping out d0ping (or not...).

McQuaid is a puppet figurehead, so removing him would be like removing the PM, but keeping the Government, and the corrupt lobbying etc where the real issues are.
IMO, some areas could be run much worse then the UCI does, and we could end up with Tchmil running an F1 style organisation. |

And the UCI in turn has set up and owns Global Cycling Promotions SA, which carries on in a manner simlar to its owners. It recently binned one of its World Tour events, the Tour of Hangzhou, which was due to take place 09.10.2013 - 13.10.2013.
The event received a renewed four year licence in 2012, but UCI recently reported;-

And while we're on, there was also this;-
Finally, the PCC approved a project aiming to increase the attraction of races which will be carried out in 2013 in collaboration with the organisers of two UCI WorldTour events: at these events, which will be selected in the next few days, each team will be able to have six starters only, and a new system of bonus points based on intermediate sprints will be set up.
One wonders how a race with smaller teams will 'increase the attraction', so maybe it's a ruse to get a full turnout at the Tour of Beijing - another GCP event. Will this go ahead now there have to be 19 World Tour teams - another change forced on the UCI by CAS for reason of its maladministration in leaving Katusha and the world's no1 ranked rider out of its premier league.
You can't make this stuff up.
