the chance of Lance or any other Cancer survivors having a reoccurance is in most terms is the same as anyone else. EG If Lance has been succesfully treated (cured) of his type of Cancer he has the same chance as anyone else getting other type ie skin /lung/ blood etc.
. |
Not exactly.
Recurrence will be due to cells from the original cancer still being present in his body. Therefore the original cancer could recur elsewhere. Lungs and liver are the usual locations.
When cancer *CENSORED* talk about being "cured" it means surviving five years... they have a term, "5 year survival rate". Says it all really. _________________ You big Kahuna. |

Simon said 'Don't think he has been given even 5% chance of long term survival. ' This is a shocker; where did it come from? |
This is the dreadful truth of what Lance lives with. The reality is very stark and helps explain the kind of person he is. He knows that every day and every Tour is a bonus. Why do you think he's not doing the Olympics to be with his family?
To put it in very brutal terms, if Armstrong went to his local life insurance company they would not entertain him for one moment. That's why Cofidis ran so quickly from his hospital room? They no doubt took medical opinion.
For testicular cancer the 5 year survival rate is about 90% for all cases, including those caught early. Armstrongs was caught late, had spread further (hence the surgery) and was particularly aggressive.
We have a real hero as the best in our sport who stands out in the sporting world. Cyclists should be proud of him. _________________ You big Kahuna. |

How much gap is there between each of the riders? Is it a minute? It would be quite a feet to catch him up if it was a minute, maybe if it was 30 secs? |
1 minute up to the last 23, and then 2 minutes. Doubt if there'll be any catching amongst the big hitters.. _________________ I don't enjoy golf. BAN IT. |

What they mean by that is if you've survived the five years and are still 'all clear', it's life as normal. You are cured. |

If you're cured you're cured. Your chances are the same as everyone elses, sometimes better as they may have it and not know. If you've got past the 5 year mark you'll have been tested regularly and know you're cancer free. |

only by two minutes smart @ss. there are going to be quite a few eliminations as the cut off is 33% and if lance does 39 minutes then 52 will be the cut off. _________________ You don't get big legs watching telly. |

Lance Armstrong's bike is reported to be 20 grams too light. It weighed in at 6.78 kg instead of the mandatory 6.8 kg. He'll have to put O3 in the tyres or something.

"Armstrong's Bike Lighter Than Legal Limit...
Lance Armstrong's bike has not passed the UCI's standards. It has weighed in at 6.780kg. The legal requirement is for the bike to be no less than 6.8kg. The rider who will contest today's stage in the yellow jersey has to add weight to his carbon-fibre Trek bike before he starts the stage at 4.58pm."
He's got to add 20g to his bike
Bit of gaffer tape should do the job _________________ You big Kahuna.
