like with the mavic track wheels - no science here, but if i had a grand for a pair of wheels then it would be zipp 202s. i like the idea of 1040g per pair.
i think corimas get rebadged as other things quite often, they might come cheaper this way... worth checking it out if you want new wheels.
but really, there's nothing wrong with ksyriums is there? |

I think Daniel was asking about time trial wheels rather than road wheels like the 202's.
However, to semi answer Daniel - for time trials, there would be very little between the Corima's and Zipp's in terms of performance. The Corima's equivalent are a lot cheaper - the Disc is under £500 - Zipp's 900 being £850. The front aero Corima is only a little cheaper than Zipp's 404. But I hear the new 808 will be a lot more - similar to the disc in cost. The Zipp's are lighter - maybe 100 grams a wheel, so not a lot in it. The Corima does do a 12 spoke front, Zipp's I think is just 18. Zipp also claim to have better bearings than anyone else too - I have heard they are starting to use ceramic ball bearings, which truely are the pinnacle of bearings. They both use the same excellent Sapim CX-Ray spokes - probably the best there is.
So - if you need to save money - Corima. If not, maybe Zipp. More money would get a Mavic disc. Even more money would get you a Campag Ghibli disc.

And if you want to save even more get a Renn (£349 delivered). Got mine a few weeks ago, and performance wise I can't see how it differs much from the Corima. _________________ Regards,

Click on either link underneath, they're both the same shop. Directions are there.
Yes, I know Rich Robinson, went to Uni with him many, MANY years ago _________________ The internet is possibly the greatest bitch fest on earth. Expect anything than relentless ridicule for no good reason and your expectations are set way too high |

Zipp build quality and finish is far superior - but then the price is a little higher too. But then they do 9mnths interest free i think?
I think the zipp bracking surface is better - can use normal blocks no problem, even in the wet. |
