What should I have?
BTW I'm definately having a 50+ sprint (after I disappointed all of those older athletes last year!) _________________ it doesn't rain all day on the second bank holiday in May (every year) |

If you get a quality field go with a points race (like the old Leon Meridith days)
Oh now you add the madison _________________ When offered the choice between the path of Desire and the path of Virtue I chose the path marked Diversion.

No way, the sprinters have it easy all the time. _________________ When offered the choice between the path of Desire and the path of Virtue I chose the path marked Diversion.

Howabout a 20km with a twist, everyone has to ride 100" gear? Avit! _________________ "Well done, you are 100% absolutely without a shadow of a doubt spot-bollock-on correct." - Tucker

OT, but how come on the road sit-in-sprinters (like me) are considered the devil's spawn, yet on the track non-sprinters (like me) know they've only got themselves to blame if they don't get rid of the sprinters in the distance events? _________________ ... |

You got to make the track sprinter work harder for the win and on the road you have to work harder in the breaks. _________________ When offered the choice between the path of Desire and the path of Virtue I chose the path marked Diversion.

I agree, the Madison would be a great finale-100 laps and teams have to have ridden a Madison before _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say. Fools talk because they have to say something."

I think a madison for the last race would be unpractical, if you have a good turn out of riders there will be well over 40 or 50 riders wanting to do the last race, and not all would have done a madison before, can you imagine 25 pairs of riders doing handslings every lap
Keep is pure and simple Rob - Scratch race with maybe a half distance sprint |

40 or 50 riders? You reckon? You can do a scratch race whenever you like at TL, bring on the Madison.
Even better, how about a derny paced madison _________________ "Well done, you are 100% absolutely without a shadow of a doubt spot-bollock-on correct." - Tucker

(Read my last post again Pocket Rocket)
There's plenty of room at Herne Hill for 25 pairs as long as they know what they are doing! Like the idea of the Derny pacing-I'm starting to look forward to this meeting already _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say. Fools talk because they have to say something."

Last year there was an A and B final race with fields of 30+ in both.
I'm not going to put on 50 rider madison even if it would be a laugh! _________________ it doesn't rain all day on the second bank holiday in May (every year) |

And there was me thinking you were going to be adventurous Rob! How about a Madison for the riders that know what they are doing and then a Scratch for the rest? _________________ "Wise men talk because they have something to say. Fools talk because they have to say something."
