Did the riders hate Armstrong? Why? Or do you mean the audience (that's us) will hate him?

Anyway, I'm not sure. He will have made no enemies at all IMO in not trying too hard in Ghent-Wevelgem; a win there would be nothing to him but important to Hushovd.

I don't think that will happen, even if he were to dominate the whole season. Boonen appears to have something which Lance lacked - or perhaps kept hidden from the public - and that is an endearing personality and an 'ordinaryness'. Not that I've met him, it's just the impression I get from TV and magazine interviews.

I mean how long before the same idiots who hated Lance for his domination of the Tour start to hate Boonen for his domination of the northern classics. Rolling Eyes

Lance never moved to Monaco to avoid paying tax, sorry I mean to avoid his fans, sorry I mean to enable him to concentrate on his preparation.

They resented him for targetting one race a year, the Tour obviously, when it would have been so much more of a spectacle to see him racing in the classics for a win. I doubt this will happen with Boonen though, he isn't just a Northern Classics *CENSORED*, is he?

Head and vote says Tom. He is super strong but Cancellara and Hincapie must be real danger. Quick Step are so strong.

Bettini for Amstel and Liege.

Should be great.

Yeah but his jaw was too wide.

Boonen isn't mates with George Bush & Bono though. Doesn't think he's bigger than Jesus, he's just a very good bike rider.

hit the nail on the head!

Boonen is tops and I think he will remain popular as he is a down to earth guy. He also is pretty respectful of the oppostion in public. A publicity dream and long may it continue.

I got Flaneders wrong so i'll tip the same rider for sentimental reasons - Allesandro Ballan of Lampre but my heart lies elsewhere...

I'm not a big fan of George, but I reckon that after last year he proved he can be up there, and after Flanders he might feel a tad peeved, so maybe he can get aggressive enough to pull it off. He'll need a lot of luck though, just like everyone else.

Sorry - Boonen is young, keen and on another level - I reckon he has the best team support as well.

Za Boonen Ya!
