I realise this is a tough call for cycling fans but is it something to be considered?
Is scapping the race only way we can get through to all the teams and riders that they must do it clean or not at all?
Or should we make the best of a bad situation by keeping the pressure on with more testing and investigations of everyone left in? _________________ "Train?! Training is for people with no natural ability!" |

Well quite, is it worth removing every name from the winners list and starting again from scratch...
I mean that's been abig part of the problem. Guys like Vino have looked and seen the race in the past won by people doping so why should they have to do it clean? _________________ "Train?! Training is for people with no natural ability!" |

No.
The tour is an "event" - it's bigger than the current (or past) crop of riders. I'd be happy (in the loosest possible sense of the word) if virtually everyone was chucked out (if they were all testing positive) and it came down to just a handful of clean riders finishing.
There's still ~150 people left in the race; there's a long way to go yet. |

Just allow the French teams to continue. They appear to be the cleanest seeing as they are towards the back of the field. _________________ mug source code table remote plate magazine gel |

I think it is a little funny that there are so few Italian riders in this years tour. Might it be that they concentrate on the Giro because it is little easier to get away with things? _________________ "Train?! Training is for people with no natural ability!" |

All 3 tours should be cancelled for 12 months to allow everyone to finally get their act together.
Just look at the so-called results of the last 10-15 years of them.
Can anyone honestly now believe the winners ?
I feel very sorry for the likes of Geraint Thomas and Mark Cavendish riding into this mess. |

You just have to feel sorry for the Wiggins of this world. Cycles 2,000 odd km only to be kicked out because one of his team is caught doping. The McEwens of this world. Kicked out of the Tour because he didn't get within the time limit in a peloton full of dopers. Damn right it affects every member of the peloton. Vino gone, Raz gone, who trusts Contador? Total f***ing mess!! |

Rumours Soler has failed and the mud slinging has started on Cadel. I'm beginning to think that maybe this thread has a point. |

Fortunately, I'm old enough to remember when the Tour was a good bike race, but you have to go back to the 80s for that. Since then we've had the boredom of Indurain, the start of major durg scandals, then the further boredom with Armstrong. Everything changes but the Tour is no longer an exciting bike race, it's durgs, durgs, durgs. Over the last 15 years I've watched less and less of it, I've seen 3 stages this time and I won't watch any more. How many topics on here have been about the racing in the last 3 weeks? Not many I'm sure.
Bring on the classics!
I'm certain I'll see a better race at Smithfields than I would on Eurosport this Sunday. |
