Hey Windy,
Is Bleasby Cafe that expensive now then??
bet its not as expensive as that one at Hallaton.
Good job Norman only takes us once a year, had to borrow cash last time the MOCC club run went there. _________________ http://www.imdb.com/media/rm3094845440/tt0069704

Give me an example of Hallaton or tell me where it is and we'll ride over and put it to the test?
Bleasby, Starbucks is better value for money.
In fact I'd recommend that Norman takes you on a trip up North to Edwinstowe. Pretty good cafe by the cricket ground amongst the craft shops just down the road from the Major Oak visitors centre entrance. He's cheap, sells proper food, not the dainty old ladies food, likes cyclists and lets you bring your bikes round the back. Closed Mondays though. _________________ Hoping the race organiser will give me a postcode to find the headquarters hidden in the wilderness.

Its in the main street of Hallaton village next to a pub??
Its around the side of the pub.
My memeory is failing me.....maybe Kingy can describe it better for you.
Theres only one street in Hallaton and the Cafe is just past the village green( small patch of grass with a cross on it)
Take a tenner with you! _________________ http://www.imdb.com/media/rm3094845440/tt0069704

less of a choice of Tenor now that Pavarotti is no more..
Dick your navigational skills have always been pants even you must know there are about 8 streets in Hallatosis.
plenty of info at www.bewickearms.co.uk
Used to be run by a lady who was err...easy on the eye
Sometimes say when working from home I meet a workmate there to discuss technical things (waitresses etc) . He rides from Market Harboro and I do the lumpy hour or so to the cafe. Of course then work ends up footing the bill usually circa 20 quid for a 2 lite lunches...and I get 40 hilly miles in...
Still think Gannets crumble & custard has the edge |

Investigation on prices completed...actually not soo bad at Jades cafe Bradgate park
cakes from 1.40 to 2.50 great big slice of choc0death
Billy boys dad ( is that Billy dad?) ate this healthy option
tricky was in dire need of a cake after a hilly ride out into a headwind
We did hear tales that the cafe on the junction of the A47/A1 scarewell? is quite pricey and not very friendly to clists..panini (with de rigga chips and salad) nearly 10 quid.
However I hear tea & fancy cakes for two at stapleford hall is about 25 quid ! keep us riff raff out I suppose..perhaps Swainy can confirm those prices for us |

Gates garden centre, has to be the most pricey in the area, top marks to jades tea rooms for their cakes, sadly now "poshed" up a bit and my favorite serving wench no longer appears to work there. Wymondham windmill is quite good but the tea is like gnats pee. stonehurst farm in mountsorrell is very good but too near for me. I found a top cafe in the langtons by accident one sat afternoon, it's name escapes me but its in a village the oakham side of market harborough.
Best tea and cakes this year award, goes to :-a farm near rhandirmwyn on trickys mtb trip, with a fabulous equstrain girly view thrown in, stupid welsh publicans lost out on a few bob that afternoon lol.
Todays hardriders trial turned into a shoz/spud burn up with me and a few other poor souls getting dropped before we got to scalford, on and off the vale six times is a bit extreme , I (coughs) missed the turn to take in pasture lane, sadly my timing was poor and I beat quite a few to the lakes _________________ Users browsing this forum: None |
