I went for the second option, but that would have been in the seventies/eighties, if you know what I mean. |

Seeing as I would be dangling off the back, none of these options are suitable for me _________________ Murphy's Third Atmospheric Law of Bike Commuting is that the headwind you encounter on the way to work will shift 180 degrees in direction about 10 minutes before you decide to home. |

Could you add an option for me please? "Sit in, hang on and hope you don't get dropped and then lapped". Thanks. |

You missed the most obvious option which I saw enacted only yesterday to partial success:-
[] Sit in and wait till the leaders come up to lap your bunch, when you can assist your team-mates in the break |

Tell that old 'experienced' guy who's trying to organise you lifelong 4th cats, to shut the f*ck up
and continue to aimlessly jump 50 metres off the front then sit up and swear at the guy that chases you down then sits up
then not sprint 'cos "them fr!gg!n 4th cats are to dangerous" _________________ I'm not a pedestrian,a cyclist or a motorist,I'm just a human being. |

Talk to a couple of other riders and organise an attack together to form a chasing group of 3-4. _________________ www.braveheartfund.com |

9 laps, 1lap = 9km with a horrible 3% false flat (climb) for 2.5km every lap. Then 1km flat, 1km fairly steep downhill then 4.5km pan flat and straight to bottom of climb. Finish line at top of climb.
(Matt - break went on 5th lap) _________________ http://veloventoux.com

I have done all four so you need another option, once I was so wild I didnt care who was on my wheel. I have never jumped across and won, normally the effort kills me, I have forced a chase and won the sprint, sitting in is not for me anymore though, if I have it or think I might then I must use it. _________________ Tony Bell dates my hamster |

Were you at Dunton yesterday, Plurien? It almost got messy, with the break mixed in with the bunch at the finish, and then another rider who decided he didn't want to be there in the sprint, and shot diagonally out of the bunch, I was suprised that he didn't taken anyone's front wheel out in doing so. |

Option 3 followed by a period of anger directed at those who chose option 4 and then resign myself to sitting in for the sprint.....

I'd choose option two. Although there there was a bloke round these parts who was as strong as an ox but could never get in a break: He'd just tow the whole race back up to them instead.....And come 44th. The best option is to organise a chase group and then sit on the back of it whilst they tow you across. _________________ "Mark this well, you proud men of action! you are, after all, nothing but unconscious instruments of the men of thought."
