I think Valverde will be cooked. Bettini, past it and marked? Freire, if the Spanish can keep him in contention over the last hill, he's the man for the job. _________________ Have you got any Triple Sod? Yellow Bentines? What about some Clarky Cat? |

Can't disagree.
Who has won 3? Van Looy I know - Binda & Merckx? If Friere takes his 4th it'll be a bit of a devaluation won't it? He's not the giant they were. _________________ "For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong." H. L. Mencken

Always a chance one of the Schleck brothers may slip away on the climb and hold 'em all off. Much depends on:
a) who is in which pro team now.
b) which team will they ride for next season.
c) is the win bonus from the national federation attractive enough to sort out a and b above?
d) how many deals are done by the final selection in the last 50km.
Cynical old thing, I am, must be to do with being about so long! _________________ Doc

True - but we've sort of covered this in Armstrong v Merckx arguments, in that it simply can't all be done these days. _________________ Have you got any Triple Sod? Yellow Bentines? What about some Clarky Cat? |

Oh, I would have thought he stood a better chance of a medal in the TT. |

Fatface - no 'effin idea? Anyone who is a regular on here can assure you I have very few ideas about anything, and even less knowledge or sense...which is why I'm writing this..[/quote] _________________ Doc

Top four
Valverde
Chavenel
Boasson Hagen

If Valverde wins will the title be devalued because of the mysterious blood bag 18 a la Operation Pueto. Just a thought..... |
